About Special Events & Cultural Celebrations
Bringing kids together to celebrate, learn, and just be themselves is what I love most. At The Reading Room, I try to keep things screen-free, mixing fun and learning, so bachche khelte khelte seekh jaate hain (kids pick up new things while playing).
Indian Festivals, The Playful Way
We go all out for festivals - not just with decorations, but with stories, crafts, and hands-on cultural workshops. For Dussehra, kids make their own bows and Ravan masks, take part in Ramleela, and even do a mini Ravan Dahan. Janmashtami has stories, Matka decoration, bansuri-making, and loads of dancing. Diwali means lighting diyas, Ganesh Chaturthi is all about getting creative.
Celebrations from Everywhere
We don’t just stick to Indian festivals. Christmas here is a whole month of writing to Santa, making ornaments, and learning about how others celebrate. Halloween is spooky stories, costumes, and crafts like ghost lollipops.
Parties with a Twist
Sometimes, we just celebrate for the fun of it – from Gol Gappa parties (can’t beat that chaat!) to pajama parties with torch-lit stories and games. Birthdays, author visits, or any random reason to bring a bunch of kids together.
What’s Always There
- Story-based learning sessions at every event
- Kids get messy and creative with crafts
- Dress-up, role play, and lots of games
- A chance for every child to make new friends
I’m not about perfect parties, I’m about memories that stick.

My Story
Hey, we’re The Reading Room, born from Riddhika’s dream. You know how tough it is nowadays to get kids off their phones? We wanted a cozy spot where books win over screens. It’s not just a library—think of it as a gang of little thinkers! Sometimes it’s puppets, sometimes a gol gappa (crispy snack) party with an author, sometimes Ramleela. Watching kids laugh, read, act, or just chill with a good story—yahi toh hai asli khushi (this is real happiness).
My Work
What We Offer - Children’s library memberships, toddler programs, summer camps, author visits, drama, science workshops, canvas painting, handwriting.
