About Behind the Glitter: Our Process
Every topper we make starts with raw materials, like premium cardstock or acrylic, rather than mass-produced parts. We hand-assemble each layer, from the foam spacers that give our 3D designs their depth to the precise placement of sequins in our shaker windows. Because we handle every step in-house, we can adjust colors, names, and themes to fit exactly what you have in mind for your celebration.
How We Bring Your Theme to Life
When you order a topper, it goes through a few distinct stages in our studio. First, we translate your vision into a design file, ensuring the typography and elements work together structurally. Whether you choose a 3D layered cardstock piece or a sleek mirror acrylic topper, the construction differs significantly.
For our signature shaker toppers, the process is quite involved. We build a clear acetate window that needs to be perfectly sealed to hold the sequins or beads in place. This involves multiple layers of cardstock for rigidity and decorative accents that match your theme, like glitter cardstock for a bit of sparkle.
For our acrylic designs, the focus is on clean lines. We work with 2mm to 3mm thick cast acrylic, which is durable yet elegant. These are laser-cut for precision, and we finish them with a protective film to ensure they arrive scratch-free.
Why Handmade Matters
Because we assemble these ourselves, we are able to manage the small details that big factories miss. We check the adhesive strength on every 3D layer and ensure the dowel placement is balanced for your cake's weight.
