Portfolio Preparation for Top Design Colleges
We don’t just build portfolios, we build artists. See how our students bridge the gap between messy studio experiments and acceptance letters from RISD, Parsons, and NID.
Manya's journey from our studio to RISD is a story of dedication and exploration. In this video, she shares how our diverse workshops, from traditional Dogra craft to cyanotype printing, helped her find her creative voice and build a portfolio that secured her a spot in her dream university with a merit scholarship.
We are thrilled to celebrate Manya Kotak's acceptance into RISD, one of the world's most prestigious design schools. This video showcases some of the powerful pieces from her portfolio, demonstrating the journey from first sketch to final presentation. Every mark mattered.
The community we build lasts for years. Here, Aishwarya, a student of over 10 years, shares her feelings about returning to our art show. It is a joy to see how the creative foundation we provide continues to influence our students long after they have left the studio.
A portfolio is more than just a collection of artwork; it's a collection of memorable experiences. Our students talk about the ideation process, the energy of working alongside peers, and the magic of transforming concepts into tangible art in a community that feels like family.
About From Our Studio to Top Design Colleges
A standout portfolio isn't about perfectly polished final pieces. It is about the messy, wild ideation process that gets you there. When you work with us, we push you to document every failed experiment, every sketchbook note, and every material test, because that is what design schools actually look for. You are not just submitting art; you are submitting evidence of how you think.
Design school admissions committees are tired of seeing generic, polished submissions. They are looking for the story behind the work. This is why our portfolio preparation cycle focuses heavily on the development phase. Whether you are aiming for NID, NIFT, or international programs like RISD or Parsons, your portfolio needs to show your capacity for critical thinking and experimentation.
In our studio, we strip away the fear of ruining a piece. Our students engage in intense, hands-on projects, from cyanotype printing and traditional Dogra craft to sculpture and mixed-media installation. We guide you through the process of articulating your concepts, helping you transform rough ideas into cohesive, gallery-worthy submissions.
We keep our cohorts small and focused at our Prabhadevi studio. You are not just sitting at an easel; you are in a high-energy environment where you are expected to handle rigorous critiques, defend your choices, and iterate based on feedback. By the time you finish your course cycle, you have a body of work that is authentically yours, supported by a clear narrative that showcases your unique artistic voice. We do not do crash courses here. We work on a 4 to 6 month cycle to ensure that the work you produce is a genuine reflection of your growth, not just a rushed collection of images.
Purnima Sampat
I started this studio because I saw too many students making boring, copied art. Here, we help you find what is in your head and turn it into something real. My team and I are here to push you to think like an artist, not an imitator.
