About Live Sitar Performances
My Approach to Sitar
The sitar is not just my instrument - it's how I express myself and connect with people. Everything I play, whether it's an old raga or a Bollywood melody, comes straight from my heart. I carry my guru's teachings and my Karnataka roots everywhere I perform, and honestly, nothing beats the feeling when the room gets silent and the music takes over.
What I Offer
- I shape my live sitar performances to fit your vibe, be it a classical baithak performance, a grand wedding, or something experimental.
- You’ll find me playing solo, or with a tabla or harmonium, depending on what suits the occasion.
Styles I Play
- Deep, meditative Hindustani ragas for those who want a pure classical experience - perfect for a quiet evening or cultural gathering.
- Contemporary sitar fusion for folks looking for something upbeat and different. I jam with DJs, drummers, even dancers - anything that brings a fresh twist.
- Instrumental Bollywood sitar covers that make popular songs sound both familiar and a little new. Great for sangeets, parties, or when you want to surprise your guests.
Why Book Me
- I travel across India, so location isn't a problem.
- If you have a song list or an event theme, I’m happy to build the set around that.
- To be honest, not every crowd is into classical, and that’s okay - I get that. I shape the set so everyone can connect, no matter their taste.
Music is about sharing a moment. If you want something genuine, rooted in tradition but open to new sounds, I’d love to play for you.

My Story
Namaskara, I'm Arjun. The sitar is pretty much my world - sometimes I forget where the music ends and I begin. My guru Sri Vijay B Gonahalu, and my dada guru Pandit Arvind Parikh ji, shaped my journey. Playing for Parikh ji on his 97th birthday? Goosebumps, even now. I love small baithaks, big concerts, and playing outdoors in places like Uttarakhand, just me and the hills. Music and nature, that's my peace.
My Work
Sitar Performances - Classical, Fusion & Covers - I play classical sitar, fusion with DJ (yup, grooving beats), and Kannada instrumental covers for all kinds of events.
Studio Recording & Collaboration - Recording sessions, jugalbandi with tabla or flute, and jamming with other artists - I’m always up for it.
Sitar Lessons - For anyone serious about learning, I offer sitar lessons. Beginners welcome, but dedication is a must.
