Advanced asanas are not about looking good on camera. They are the result of disciplined, consistent practice and understanding your body's limits. Here is how we build strength and flexibility safely in Jayanagar.

A student demonstrating Hanumanasana (Front Split). This posture requires patience and consistent practice, and we guide our students to open their hips safely over time.

The forward fold in Hanumanasana deepens the stretch. Our training focuses on how to progress in such advanced postures without forcing the body.

A front-facing view of the front split, showing the alignment of the hips and the engagement of the front leg. This is the result of dedicated practice.

Holding the foot in a full front split forward bend. This level of flexibility is achieved through disciplined and intelligent sequencing, which we teach in our course.

Using a chair as a prop to build strength for Mayurasana (Peacock Pose). Props are excellent tools to deconstruct a pose and build up to it safely.

Using a yoga block to support the pelvis in Hanumanasana is a smart way to practice. We teach our students how to use props to work towards advanced poses correctly.

Consistent practice is the only way to perfection. Here, a student works on her supported shoulder stand (Salamba Sarvangasana), building strength and stability.

Working on backbends like Urdhva Dhanurasana (Wheel Pose) with support. This helps to open the thoracic spine and build strength for deeper backbends in the future.

This is not a fall, it's a part of learning. Practicing transitions like this jump-through from Bakasana builds core strength and control. Keep practicing consistently.

The smile of achievement. Working on complex seated poses like Garbha Pindasana requires both flexibility and a sense of humor. Consistency and discipline make it possible.

About Mastering Advanced Postures

You will notice we use a lot of props like chairs, blocks, and straps in these images. That is because mastering advanced postures like the front split or peacock pose is not about forcing your body. It is about finding support so your muscles can release safely. In our Jayanagar studio, we deconstruct every complex movement into smaller, manageable steps so you actually learn the mechanics instead of just imitating a shape.

The Truth About Advanced Yoga

Forget what you see on social media. True progress in advanced postures like Hanumanasana or arm balances is not about reaching the final shape on day one. It is about the boring work like alignment, breath control, and core engagement. If you are struggling with your practice or keep hitting a plateau, it is likely because you are missing the foundation.

Our Approach in Jayanagar

We focus on a technique-first method. When you train with us, we do not just ask you to hold a pose. We teach you:

  • Prop-based progressions: Using wall ropes and chairs to build the necessary strength before going into a full pose.
  • Safety and Anatomy: Understanding which muscle groups need to be engaged and which need to release.
  • Consistency: Showing up is 90 percent of the work.

Whether you are training for our Yoga Alliance 200-hour certification or simply attending group classes, my focus remains the same: you should walk out with more stability and understanding than you had when you walked in. Tumba chanagide (it is very good) to see students finally achieve a pose they thought was impossible, but only because they stopped rushing and started listening to their bodies. If you want to stop guessing and start practicing, join us at the studio.
