About Our Gang: Showcases and Memories
In every session, we go beyond choreography to focus on the 'why' behind the action. Whether it is learning the discipline of a traditional shloka or the confidence gained from stage drills, my goal is to help these kids grow into respectful, grounded individuals. It is not just about the final performance, it is about the habits they build while they are here, like learning to respect their space, their environment, and each other.
At Thandavika, we do not just teach steps. We build a 'gang' of confident, culturally grounded kids. When you browse these photos, you are not just seeing a dance class. You are seeing the result of small, consistent choices.
My approach in RR Nagar is different because I believe fitness and dance are only half the story.
What Defines Our Gang
- Building Character: We practice small, meaningful habits. Whether it is a 'no-plastic' rule in the studio or learning to wash our own plates, these actions create a sense of responsibility that translates to their life at home.
- Cultural Roots: We start sessions with shlokas. It is about understanding where we come from and staying grounded even when we are learning modern cinematic or contemporary dance styles.
- Stage Confidence: I push the kids to get on the mic. Whether they are introverts or natural performers, the 'Navarasas' training helps them express themselves clearly. It is amazing to see the shyest kids transform into confident speakers over just a few sessions.
- Holistic Fitness: We mix step aerobics, basic yoga, and bodyweight training with dance. This ensures they develop stamina, flexibility, and strength while having a blast.
Whether it is our intense Summer Camp or our regular evening batches, the focus stays on individual growth. I keep the batch sizes small so every child gets my full attention. We are not just a studio. We are a family of 'little gangsters' learning to live better, eat better, and dance with real passion.
