Master the Mental Game in Tennis
Tennis is 80% legs and 20% mind, but that 20% determines everything. Learn to stop overthinking and start trusting your training with our focused mental conditioning.
Your mind is your biggest asset on the court. In this video, I share a powerful mental trick to help you overcome the fear of hitting out and build confidence in your shots. When you learn to trust your mind, your body will follow.
Fear of missing holds you back. In this "no inhibitions" challenge, we focus on swinging freely and aggressively without worrying about the result. You'll be surprised how much more effective you are when you let go and trust your training.
About this collection
When you try too hard to keep the ball in, you often tense up and end up missing anyway. I teach my students the 'No Inhibitions' drill, where we consciously practice hitting the ball out, to break that mental barrier. Once you stop fearing the error, your body naturally finds the margin it needs. It sounds counterintuitive, but it is the fastest way to get your body to trust your training.
Tennis is Played Between the Ears
Most players get stiff because they are scared. They worry about the result, the score, or what the coach will say if they miss. This fear is a barrier that prevents you from playing freely. At Tennace Academy, we focus on removing that fear. If you can change your perspective on what a 'miss' actually is, you change your entire game.
Why Mental Training Matters
- Building Resilience: You will learn to handle pressure, whether it is a tie-breaker or a tough training session.
- The 'No Inhibitions' Philosophy: We strip away the pressure of hitting winners and focus on the quality of the swing. When the mind is clear, the technique flows.
- Tournament Readiness: We use in-house matches to simulate tournament stress. You cannot learn mental toughness just by hitting against a wall; you need to feel the heat of competition.
Our Approach to Focus
I do not hold your racket for you. My job is to give you the mental tools to handle the game yourself. We talk about effort over results. We focus on the 'phatka' (the solid contact) rather than where the ball lands every single time. When you are consistent in your mental approach, your physical game follows. Whether you are training at our Santacruz or Matunga locations, the expectation is the same: show up ready to work, think clearly, and play with intent.
Tennace Academy
I'm Vanshal, and I don't just teach you how to swing a racket. I teach you how to think like a player, even when things aren't going your way. We aren't here to pass time; we are here to build the focus and discipline you need to actually compete.
