Kanasu: Luxury Nature-Inspired Architecture in Bengaluru
Kanasu is more than a 13,500 sq.ft. residence. It is an urban sanctuary where light, shadow, and nature converge. This is our vision of architecture: raw, honest, and deeply rooted in the soil of namma Bengaluru.

About this collection
We did not just build this 13,500 sq.ft. residence. We carefully planned every cantilever and corner around the site's existing trees to ensure the house breathes with the city. The double-height dining area is not just for show, but a light-trap designed to shift the mood of the entire house as the sun moves across the Bengaluru sky. If you want a home that feels like it grew out of the earth rather than being placed on it, this is the approach we take.
Kanasu, which means 'dream' in Kannada, represents the core of what we call Technoarchitecture. This project was never about creating a finished product to look at, but a living space meant to be experienced. We used raw, honest materials like exposed concrete, teak wood, and clay bricks because these textures do not just look good—they age gracefully, gaining character over time.
The Design Philosophy
- Nature as the Blueprint: We hate cutting trees. For Kanasu, we mapped the existing vegetation first and designed the volumes of the house around them. The result is a home that feels like a forest retreat, even within the city.
- Light and Shadow Play: Architecture is, in essence, the manipulation of light. By using deep overhangs, jaali screens, and massive skylights, we control the sun's path. This creates dynamic shadow patterns on the walls that change from morning to evening, making the house feel alive.
- The Central Courtyard: Every luxury home needs a heart. Here, the courtyard acts as a private green lung. It brings the outdoors inside, providing natural ventilation and a serene, visual anchor from every room.
Technical Expertise
When we take on a project, we handle everything from the initial sketch to the final key handover. We focus on complex structural features like cantilevered balconies and pillar-less living spaces. We coordinate with specialists for HVAC, home automation, and landscaping to ensure utilities are concealed, leaving only the architecture and your dream intact. Whether you are looking for a sprawling luxury residence or a quiet urban home, we build to make your Kanasu a reality.
Techno Architecture
I am Rajesh Shivaram, the principal architect at Techno Architecture. Since 2003, I have been obsessing over how light, shadow, and local trees can turn a concrete structure into a living, breathing sanctuary. We do not just build houses. We build your Kanasu, or dream, into something you can actually live in.
