Professional Tattoo Cover-Ups in Dadar

Covering an old tattoo is not as simple as drawing a new one on fresh skin. I have to look at the existing ink density and plan the new design around it, usually using darker shades or textures to mask the old shape. When you come to the studio, we will map this out together so the old tattoo disappears completely into the new design.

Many people come to my Dadar studio with tattoos that no longer mean anything to them or were done poorly years ago. A successful cover-up requires strategy, not just creativity.

The Reality of Covering Ink

Black ink is permanent. If you have a solid black shape, I cannot simply put a light-colored rose over it because the old lines will show through. I use techniques like heavy shading, complex textures, or darker, intricate blackwork to break up the old design. We might need to incorporate existing lines into the new image rather than trying to hide them.

My Process

• Evaluation: First, we look at the size and darkness of your existing tattoo. If it is too dark or dense, I might suggest a few sessions of laser removal first to lighten it up.
• Design Planning: We design the new piece specifically to hide the old one. This often means the new tattoo needs to be larger than the original.
• Freehand Work: Sometimes, I draw the design directly on your skin to ensure the new flow covers the old imperfections perfectly.
