Redefining Golf Academy Infrastructure and Coaching Systems
I partner with golf clubs, schools, and associations to build high-performance academies from the ground up. My focus is on structural rigour, technology integration, and coaching development.
My mission is to redefine the entire golf development ecosystem in India. I believe the sport needs a significant facelift, and my work over the next five years is dedicated to transforming how golf is taught and how talent is developed across the nation.
This is what a shared vision looks like. Our five-year association with the Royal Calcutta Golf Club, one of India's most premiere clubs, is a testament to our system. We are building a complete academy ecosystem that will produce future champions and train world-class coaches.
Building champions requires a scientific foundation. My Head of Sports Science, Sumit, explains our approach to holistic athlete development, from implementing long-term athletic development (LTAD) for juniors to precise load monitoring and injury prevention for senior professionals.
An academy is only as strong as its coaching team. My Head Coach explains our unified teaching philosophy, ensuring every student receives consistent, high-quality diagnostic information and mentorship, drawing from our collective experience to guide them to success.
We replace guesswork with data. Here, I am analyzing biomechanical data from GASP force plates, one of the many technologies we integrate. This allows us to understand forces and torques, taking our coaching and your academy's results to the next level.
My vision extends to making golf more inclusive. This announcement for the Rotary Bangalore Golf Academy, managed by my team at a government school, showcases our commitment to growing the game at the grassroots level and creating new opportunities through sport.
My consulting extends beyond India's borders. Here, I am conducting a coach development program for the Nepal Golf Association, in partnership with the Australian PGA. Developing coaches is the first step in developing the sport in any nation.
My core philosophy is to build fearless athletes who are not afraid to experiment under pressure. It is the coach's responsibility to create an environment where inhibitions are shed, because the ability to take risks is the mark of a true champion.
About Featured
Most golf academies fail because they lack a unified system, relying on ad-hoc lessons rather than a structured athlete development pathway. My consulting work focuses on the operational framework: we implement standard operating procedures for your coaching staff, integrate data-tracking tech like TrackMan, and install the exact sports science protocols I use at the TSG Academy. This is not about branding; it is about building a sustainable, profitable, and results-oriented golf facility.
The TSG Consulting Framework
I do not offer off-the-shelf academy management. My process is an intensive intervention designed to overhaul how your facility functions. Whether you are launching a new range or trying to revitalize an established club, my consulting covers three critical pillars:
- Academy Infrastructure & Tech: From site feasibility and wind-pattern analysis to range bay design and the procurement of high-speed video analysis tools, I ensure your facility is built for performance. We specify the tech stack—TrackMan, SAM PuttLab, and force plates—so your coaches have objective data, not opinions.
- Coach Development & Certification: The greatest weakness in most Indian golf clubs is the lack of a standardized teaching philosophy. I train your team personally, ensuring every coach uses the same diagnostic language. My 'Train the Trainer' model ensures that your academy's quality does not drop when a specific coach leaves.
- Operational Business Modeling: A high-performance academy must be a viable business. I implement revenue projection models, student capacity planning, and recruitment support to ensure your academy is sustainable. This includes curriculum licensing for both junior development pathways and adult game-improvement programs.
Why This Works
My work at institutions like the Royal Calcutta Golf Club and with the Nepal Golf Association has proven that the Indian golf ecosystem is starving for structure, not more marketing. When we introduce a long-term athletic development (LTAD) plan, we stop losing students to frustration. We start building athletes who have a process to follow.
If you want an academy that produces champions rather than casual hobbyists, you need to be ready for the discipline this system requires. I do not provide quick fixes; I provide the roadmap to build a legacy.
Tarun Sardesai Golf Academy
I spent years chasing trophies as a player, only to realize the real legacy is in coaching and building the right systems. I do not believe in fluff or generic lesson plans. I am here to build academies that prioritize discipline, data-driven improvement, and sustainable growth for both coaches and athletes.
