About Competition Achievements
Competing is not just about showing up; it is about strategy. In our tournament prep sessions, I teach you how to read your opponent’s movement and when to strike. We go beyond basic sparring—you will learn specific tactics for referee scoring and how to keep your composure in high-pressure matches. If you want to move from the dojang to the podium, you must be ready to work harder than everyone else in the room.
Winning at a tournament requires a different kind of training than a typical fitness class. At Paatliputraa Taekwondo Academy in Malad West, we focus on competition-grade techniques. When we prepare for district or state championships, we do not just practice kicks. We run simulated match scenarios so that when you step onto the mat for a Kyorugi exchange, the pressure feels familiar.
My students have consistently performed well at the CISCE National Sports and Games and the ISSO National Games, bringing home gold medals through hard work and disciplined repetition. We do not just teach moves; we teach strategy. Whether you are aiming for a sub-junior district level win or competing in senior state championships, the training is rigorous.
Competition Coaching Focus
- Referee Scoring Strategy: Learning what judges look for in both Kyorugi and Poomsae to maximize your points.
- Conditioning for Endurance: Matches are exhausting. We focus on stamina so you have the same speed in the final round as you do in the first.
- Poomsae Precision: For forms, it is about perfection in every stance. We practice the Taegeuk series until every block and strike is sharp and intentional.
If you have the drive, I have the plan. We work on your strengths and fix your defensive gaps until you are ready to compete.
