About My Taekwondo Journey: International Expertise
It is not just about having certificates on the wall. It is about understanding the evolution of the sport. When I return from training programs at the World Taekwondo headquarters in Muju, I immediately integrate those updated sparring tactics and Poomsae refinements into our Malad curriculum. You are not just learning local drills; you are training with global standards.
Most people think Taekwondo is static—that a kick is just a kick. But the sport is constantly evolving. My trips to South Korea, specifically for the World Taekwondo Partnership Program, are not vacations. They are rigorous training intensives where I practice alongside masters from across the globe.
Why Global Training Matters for You
When you walk into my dojang in Malad West, you might notice my commands are precise—'Hana, Dul, Set'—and my feedback is direct. That is because I am using the exact pedagogical methods I learned at Kukkiwon. If you are prepping for a belt grading or a national championship, you need to know that your training matches the current international requirements, not outdated methods from a decade ago.
What I Bring Back to Malad
- Current Sparring Protocols: I update my Kyorugi drills based on the latest competition rules observed during my international visits.
- Poomsae Precision: Small details in stance and power transfer change over time. I bring the 'gold standard' corrections back to our daily classes.
- Training Philosophy: We do not just train the body. The discipline and mental fitness focus I advocate are core components of the Korean training culture I immerse myself in.
Whether you are a beginner or looking to compete at the national level, you are learning a system that has been pressure-tested at the heart of Taekwondo.
Sachin Kumar
I am Sachin, and I don't just teach Taekwondo—I live it. I travel to Korea to train at the source, so the techniques I teach in Malad are the same ones used by the best in the world.
