A first look at the core of my training. This is where you'll see the discipline, power, and practical skills we build in every class, from our youngest warriors to our seasoned competitors.
Sparring (Kyorugi): The Art of Combat
We practice Olympic-style Taekwondo sparring, known as Kyorugi. Students learn offensive and defensive movements, footwork, and strategy in a controlled environment with full protective gear to ensure safety.
Self-Defense: Practical Skills for Real-World Scenarios
Taekwondo is not just for sport; it is a powerful tool for self-protection. I teach practical, effective techniques designed to work in real-world situations, focusing on awareness, leverage, and decisive action.
Agility & Footwork Drills
Quick feet and excellent balance are the marks of a skilled martial artist. We use a variety of equipment like agility ladders, rings, cones, and steppers to build speed, coordination, and dynamic balance in all our students.
Core Strength & Conditioning
A powerful martial artist is a strong athlete. We incorporate a wide range of conditioning exercises, including partner drills, push-ups, and stability ball workouts, to build the core strength, stamina, and endurance needed to excel.
Poomsae: Mastering the Forms
Poomsae, or forms, are the heart of Taekwondo's technical foundation. We practice patterns like the Taegeuk series, focusing on precise stances, blocks, and strikes to build muscle memory, balance, and control.
For Our Youngest Champions: Kids & Toddlers Classes
I believe in starting young to build a foundation of discipline, confidence, and physical literacy. My classes for kids and toddlers are designed to be fun, safe, and engaging, focusing on basic movements, balance, and respect.
The Path to Black Belt: Grading & Progression
Earning a belt at my academy is a true achievement. I have a clear and rigorous grading system that includes oral, written, and practical tests, including board and brick breaking, to ensure every student has truly mastered the required skills.
Competition Achievements
We don't just train, we compete. I prepare my students for district, state, and national level championships in both Kyorugi (sparring) and Poomsae (forms), and their success is a source of great pride for our academy.
Advanced Kick Tutorials
For students ready to take their skills to the next level, I provide detailed instruction on advanced and acrobatic kicks. Here, I break down the mechanics of complex movements like the jumping side kick and tornado kick.
Our Dojang & Community Events
Our training extends beyond the walls of our fully-equipped dojang in Malad West. We are active in the community, participating in local events like Malad Masti to share our passion for Taekwondo with a wider audience.
My Taekwondo Journey: International Expertise
I believe in being a lifelong student of Taekwondo. I regularly travel to South Korea, the birthplace of Taekwondo, for advanced training with World Taekwondo and at Kukkiwon to ensure I bring the most authentic and up-to-date techniques to my students.
