Tabla Recording & Musical Collaborations
From classical fusion to soulful ghazals, I help artists bring the authentic sound of Punjab Gharana tabla to their albums and tracks. Whether you need remote stems or an in-studio partner, let’s make music together.

About Collaborations & Album Features
I don't just record rhythm tracks; I focus on the texture of the sound to fit your composition. Whether we are working on a ghazal, a film score, or a fusion piece, I spend the first part of our session tuning the tabla specifically to your song's scale and finding the right mukhdas that elevate the track.
Music is about connection, and that is what I look for in every collaboration. My goal is to understand the soul of your song so the tabla feels like a natural part of the arrangement, not just an overlay.
My Approach to Sessions
When we work together, I prioritize the specific requirements of your genre. For devotional projects like Kirtan or Bhajans, I lean into the traditional, gentle resonance of the Punjab Gharana. For modern fusion or film projects, I am happy to experiment with different mic placements and percussive fills to lock in the groove you need.
The Workflow
- Remote Sessions: If you are not in the city, I provide high-quality 24-bit WAV stems. You will receive a master take plus two variations with different fills, giving you the flexibility to choose what works best for your final mix. I typically deliver these within 48 to 72 hours of receiving your reference track.
- In-Studio Sessions: If you are based in Mumbai or Delhi, I can travel to your studio. I bring my professional tabla sets and we can jam with your engineer to get the perfect intro, filler, and ending tihais for your composition.
Every session begins with a brief discussion to ensure we are aligned on the mood and tempo. I am here to collaborate with composers, producers, and artists who value an honest, traditional sound.
Surjeet Singh
Tabla is my entire world, and I treat every studio session like a new journey. I don't just record beats; I aim to add a soul to your composition, keeping the tradition of my Ustadji alive in every note.
