Master Salsa Shines and Footwork
Salsa isn't just about counting beats; it's a conversation. Whether you want to polish your solo footwork or master the fundamentals, let's help you find your flow.
My first ever solo video, going back to my roots with Salsa. Before anything else, it was just me and the music. This is my tribute to the dance that started it all.
A Salsa fusion dance to a 90s Bollywood classic. This is what happens when you mix the energy of Salsa with the nostalgia of a song you grew up with.
Salsa isn't just for couples. Here's a fun "bromance" moment on the dance floor, showing that shines and footwork are for everyone.
A fun Salsa choreography with visiting international artists. Collaborating with other dancers is one of the best ways to grow and get inspired.
When she said Salsa, we couldn't resist. A spontaneous dance on the streets of Vietnam, because the music can hit you anywhere.
About Salsa: Energy & Shines
Most people get stuck counting 1-2-3, but Salsa is actually about how you listen to the music. In my classes, we spend serious time on musicality so you stop dancing to beats and start dancing to the vibe. If you are serious about your shines and want your footwork to actually mean something on the dance floor, we should talk.
Why Shines Matter
Shines are the solo footwork sections where you truly express yourself. It is just you and the music. If you only focus on partner work, you are missing out on half the language of Salsa. My sessions break down the mechanics of your weight transfer, isolations, and speed so you can hold your own on any social floor.
The Musicality Deep Dive
I teach you to listen for the instruments. When you learn to hear the clave or the tumbao, your dancing changes from a routine into a reaction. We don't just memorize steps; we deconstruct the rhythm. This is how you stop looking like you are performing a drill and start looking like you are part of the song.
What to Expect at the Studio
My classes at the Malviya Nagar studio are designed for steady growth. We focus on:
- Technique: Body weight, frame, and posture that actually holds up in a high-energy environment.
- Connection: How to maintain flow between your shines and your partner work.
- Practical Application: We train for the social floor, not just the practice room.
Whether you are an absolute beginner or looking to refine your intermediate skills, my goal is the same: helping you reach a point where you don't have to think about the next step because you are already feeling it.
Suraj Verma
I'm Suraj. For me, dance is a journey from me to myself, and Salsa was the first language I learned to speak fluently. I don't just teach you to move; I teach you to feel the music until you can express your own story on the floor.
