About Indian Couture & Bespoke Tailoring
Why I Do This
Designing couture isn't just work for me - it's being part of your story. Most clients end up calling me Bhavya akka, and that bond is what keeps me grounded. Every outfit I create is meant to feel like you, with a mix of tradition and your own personal touch.
How It Works
- We start by talking about what you want, what the occasion means, and what your vibe is. I love hearing your story before anything else.
- After that, I sketch out a design just for you. If you want your name or a special date stitched in, we can add those little sentimental bits.
- Then our team puts it all together, making sure the fit is spot on and the look is something you'll want to wear again and again.
What Makes My Work Special
- I stick to old-school handwork: aari, zardozi, beadwork, and more. Expect temple-inspired motifs, elephants, peacocks - all the classic stuff, but always with a twist.
- You’ll see a lot of kanchipuram silk couture from our own weavers. That means you’re getting something unique, not off-the-shelf.
- I’m big on texture - we use kundan, pearls, and semi-precious stones for that royal vibe.
For Everyone
- Brides: Custom bridal lehenga design, sarees, and even modern saree gowns.
- Grooms: Handcrafted wedding sherwanis, silk kurtas, and jackets.
- Family: Love doing family twinning ethnic outfits, including for kids - all with the same attention to detail.
Based out of Jayanagar, but my outfits have reached all over. No matter where you live, I still want to be part of your celebrations.

My Story
Hey, we’re Sumaya Designer Studio, but honestly, it feels more like a big family than a business. Nothing beats seeing a bride or her whole clan in our Kanchi silk creations—makes us feel part of their celebration. That’s why we started Sumaya Fashion Academy too, to pass on real-life boutique lessons, not just design. What really matters? The trust, the ‘akka’ (elder sister) calls, and clients who stick with us for every big moment. Jayanagar’s home, but our family’s all over the map.
