Welcome to my studio, where we turn fabrics into family heirlooms. Whether you are looking for a Kanjeevaram masterpiece or a coordinated set for your celebration, I work with you to ensure every thread reflects your personal story.

A bride's muhurtham is a sacred moment, and this look was designed to honor it. The rich red Kanchipuram silk is complemented by a heavily embroidered blouse featuring traditional peacock motifs in zardozi and beadwork, creating a timeless bridal heirloom.

There is nothing more special than dressing the entire family. Here, we created a coordinated set in peach and red for a naming ceremony, ensuring the parents and their little one looked picture-perfect for their milestone celebration.

This is where the magic happens. A close-up of a bespoke bridal blouse, showcasing intricate elephant motifs crafted with detailed zardozi and pearl hand-embroidery on rich magenta fabric, a signature of our heritage-inspired couture.

For the distinguished groom, we crafted this elegant silk sherwani in a classic cream color. The subtle embroidery on the collar and cuffs adds a touch of royalty, making it a perfect choice for a traditional wedding ceremony.

It warms my heart to hear stories like Sanjana's. She trusted us with her engagement outfits from the US, and seeing her joy when she saw the final pieces is why I do what I do. This is the bond that turns clients into family.

A radiant bride captured amidst a backdrop of vibrant bougainvillea. Her custom-designed saree features a unique color palette, paired with a heavily embellished blouse that combines traditional patterns with a modern aesthetic for her special day.

The Langa Voni, or half saree, is a timeless expression of South Indian grace. This piece, in shades of mango yellow and deep green, was designed with a pleated Kanchipuram silk skirt for a classic yet comfortable silhouette.

About this collection

My process begins with a conversation—not just about measurements, but about the story behind your event. Whether you are in Bengaluru or connecting from abroad, I guide you through the selection of fabrics and motifs, ensuring the final piece fits your body and your vision perfectly.

At Sumaya Designer Studio, I focus on the intersection of South Indian heritage and your personal narrative. I specialize in Kanchipuram silk, aari work, and zardozi embroidery, blending traditional temple-inspired motifs with modern silhouettes.

My approach is different because I prefer to work closely with you. We start by selecting materials—pure Kanchi silk, raw silk, or soft organza—and then I sketch the design based on your preferences. Whether you want a traditional Muhurtham saree or a contemporary lehenga, I ensure the structural details like can-can layering and canvas fusing are precise.

Distance is never a barrier. Just like I helped Sanjana with her engagement outfits while she was in the US, I guide all my clients through the measurement process remotely. You get the same dedicated attention, with regular updates and trial discussions, so the outfit that arrives is exactly what we imagined together. If you are planning an event, let’s talk. I am here to handle the details so you can focus on the celebration.
