About this collection
Coordinated looks are about finding the right balance between distinct styles without losing your individuality. Whether we are matching a father’s sherwani fabric to a child’s kurta or aligning embroidery motifs between a couple’s outfits, our focus is on ensuring the fabrics are breathable and the fit allows for comfortable movement during long ceremonies.
Planning matching outfits for the family or a couple is one of our favorite parts of the work at Sumaya. It moves beyond just color coordination. We look at the event's vibe, the time of day, and the textures that will look best in photos and in person.
Our process starts by defining the core aesthetic. If you are leaning toward Kanchipuram silk for the bride, we source or weave complementary fabrics for the groom and children to ensure they share the same tone and sheen. For the men, we often use similar raw silk bases as the lehenga or saree border to create a cohesive palette without being overly identical.
We also integrate subtle details that tie the group together. This might mean using the same aari or zardozi embroidery motifs from the bride’s blouse on the groom’s sherwani collar or the child's jacket. It’s about creating a unified visual language for your milestones, from naming ceremonies to anniversaries.
Since we handle everything in-house in our Jayanagar studio, we manage all measurements and fittings, ensuring that even if family members are in different cities, the final set arrives ready to wear. We believe these coordinated sets become keepsakes, reflecting a moment in time where your family stood together in style.
