About Additional Work
Most people think training hard means going to failure every single day. That is how you get injured. When I am not in the ring or on the mat at Roar Combat Fitness, I am in the pool. Swimming is my non-negotiable for active recovery. It keeps my joints mobile and my lungs conditioned for high-intensity rounds without the impact of pavement pounding. It is the secret to staying in the game long-term.
True athleticism is about versatility. It is not enough to just lift heavy or run fast. You need to know how to manage fatigue and how to repair the body after you break it down.
The Importance of Active Recovery
I do not just train for muscle. I train for longevity. Swimming and low-impact movement allow me to flush out lactic acid and improve cardiovascular capacity without stressing the joints I need for combat sports. If you are a fighter or an athlete pushing your limits, your recovery strategy is just as important as your training volume. Ignore it, and you will hit a wall.
Building the Functional Athlete
My work goes beyond standard gym sets. Whether it is obstacle course prep, grip work for climbing walls, or metabolic conditioning for fighting, every drill has a purpose. We focus on:
