Grand Entrances and Hotel Lobby Designs
First impressions define the guest experience. I create double-height entrances and dramatic lobby spaces that set a tone of elegance and architectural distinction from the moment of arrival.
I believe a grand entrance sets the tone for the entire property. This double-height lobby uses polished marble floors, expansive glass walls, and a cascading crystal chandelier to create a breathtaking sense of arrival and architectural brilliance.
The entrance to the Gulnar Zenium club is designed to be a landmark. A modern ring sculpture and water feature create a dynamic roundabout, signaling the transition into a space of elevated living and contemporary design.
This view from the upper level shows how I design open-plan lobbies to be multi-dimensional. The curved staircase, glass railings, and dramatic pendant lights work together to create a striking focal point that enhances the flow and verticality of the space.
This lounge area within the Gulnaar Zenium project serves as a welcoming space for residents and guests. The design features a custom, back-lit art wall, plush seating, and metallic accents to create a comfortable yet highly sophisticated atmosphere.
A detailed view of the lounge highlights the textural interplay between the sculpted wall panel, the soft upholstery of the sectional sofa, and the smooth, reflective surfaces of the coffee tables. This is where modern sophistication meets comfort.
About Grand Entrances & Lobbies
Designing a lobby involves more than just aesthetics. I focus on circulation flow and material durability, ensuring that high-traffic areas like reception zones and guest pathways remain functional while maintaining a high-end visual appeal through natural stone choices and precise lighting placement.
Architecture begins at the threshold. A lobby functions as the transition point between the external world and the internal guest experience. When designing commercial or hospitality entrances, I prioritize verticality and volume. Using double-height ceilings and expansive glazing allows for natural light to define the space, reducing the need for heavy artificial lighting during the day.
The choice of materials is critical. In high-traffic zones, I specify materials like Italian marble or granite for their longevity and ability to maintain a pristine finish with minimal maintenance. Acoustic planning is another practical necessity often overlooked in lobby design. I integrate noise-dampening materials within wall paneling and furniture layouts to manage sound levels, ensuring that a grand space does not become an echo chamber.
My process involves close collaboration on the placement of reception counters and wait areas, ensuring they provide a clear view of the entrance without blocking the flow of movement. Whether designing for a new hotel project in the Delhi NCR region or a residential club entry, the goal remains the same: create a structure that communicates quality, permanence, and professional standards before a guest even checks in.
