A 5,000-sqft home designed as a living gallery, where art and architecture meet to tell a family's story.

The foyer of The Collector's Retreat immediately introduces the home's narrative. A significant carved panel from the client's collection is the focal point, grounded by a simple console and warm wood paneling.

This custom open shelving unit acts as a permeable screen, displaying the client's collection of artifacts and sculptures while defining the living area. It turns the home into a gallery of personal memories.

The living room was built around this bold red couch, which adds a vibrant pop of color and energy. It’s surrounded by the client's art, indoor plants, and a mix of textures to create a space that is full of life.

A close-up of the living area, showing how we layered textures and objects. The embroidered cushions, bronze sculpture, and framed antique textile create a rich, collected feel.

Another angle of the living room, showing the interplay of the red sofa against the backdrop of lush greenery seen through the large windows.

This wide view shows the complete living arrangement, with a daybed and armchairs creating multiple conversation zones. The space is designed to be flexible for both intimate family time and larger gatherings.

The combination of the red sofa, a caned bench, and textured throws creates a dynamic and inviting seating area.

This perspective highlights the room's generous proportions and its seamless connection to the garden, a key feature of our design.

A neutral backdrop allows the furniture, art, and textiles to shine. Here, we balanced modern armchairs with eclectic side tables and patterned cushions.

About Project Spotlight: The Collector's Retreat

Notice how the open shelving unit acts as a visual screen and a gallery for art? We use design elements like this to define zones without building solid walls, keeping the home light and airy. For the living room, we anchored the seating area with a deep red sofa against neutral tones, proving that you do not need to fear color—you just need to balance it with texture and light.
