The Kaleidoscope Collection
My Kaleidoscope Collection is a playground of pop colours, speckled glazes, and functional forms. These hand-built pieces are made to bring a cheerful, energetic spark into your daily rituals.
A small, hand-pinched bowl from the Kaleidoscope Collection, alive with a confetti of colors. These little trinket dishes are perfect for holding rings, spices, or just for adding a pop of color to a shelf.
This small serving tray features a bold splash of yellow and red against a textured turquoise glaze. Part of my Kaleidoscope Collection, it’s a piece of functional art designed to make everyday moments more vibrant.
A handled tray from the Kaleidoscope Collection, showcasing a rich purple and a crackled green interior. I love experimenting with how different pop colors and textures interact in the kiln.
This set, a small bowl and handled tray, is part of my vibrant Kaleidoscope Collection. The contrast between the purple tray and the green bowl highlights my love for playing with bold color combinations in my studio pottery.
A tiny, organic-shaped pinch pot with a brilliant purple interior that sparkles in the light. This piece embodies the spirit of the Kaleidoscope Collection, where even the smallest ceramic can make a big statement.
A chip-and-dip platter with a unique, free-form shape. The purple splashes on the plate and the deep teal of the bowl are characteristic of my experimental approach to glazing for the Kaleidoscope Collection.
About The Kaleidoscope Collection
I use Amaco glazes layered in three coats to get those vibrant, glossy surfaces. Because I fire them at 1220 degrees Celsius without a wheel, every tray or bowl has tiny, natural variations that make your piece truly one of a kind.
When I started the Kaleidoscope Collection, I wanted to move away from muted tones and embrace a bit of loud, unapologetic joy. These pieces are all about interaction. I experiment with layering different glazes, watching how they react and bleed into each other during the firing process. Sometimes you get a perfect crackle, and sometimes you get a deep, moody patch of colour that I could never plan even if I tried.
Since I build everything by hand using pinching and coiling techniques, you will notice the weight and texture of the clay under the glaze. These aren't factory-made items. They have character. The bowls are perfect for spices or rings, and the trays work well for keys or as a pop of colour on your coffee table.
Care is straightforward. Despite the organic, hand-pinched edges, all these pieces are fully food-safe, microwave-safe, and dishwasher-safe. I design them to be used, not just kept on a shelf. If you pick up a piece from this collection, expect it to feel a little different than the last one, and know that it was made right here in my studio in Powai.
Studio Gariffiti
I'm Garima, and I run Studio Gariffiti here in Powai. I don't use a wheel, so you'll always find my fingerprints on the clay, which I think adds to the story of the piece. I find that the slower I build, the more personality the ceramics take on.
