Community & Wellness Spaces: Architecture of Connection
We believe architecture extends beyond private residences into the shared environments that define our daily lives. From dynamic clubhouses to serene wellness pavilions, our community spaces are designed to foster social interaction and a deep engagement with the natural landscape.
The clubhouse for our Kolgaon Masterplan is designed as a dynamic patchwork of programs. The facade mixes perforated brick screens with transparent glass containers, creating a building that is both functional and visually engaging.
This diagram shows our concept for the Kolgaon clubhouse: a stack of containers for "chilling," "playing," "social," and "eating." Each program is twisted and rotated to respond to the site and create interconnected indoor-outdoor spaces.

The restaurant terrace at the Kolgaon clubhouse provides a beautiful setting for outdoor dining. The space is enclosed by glass and protected by a perforated brick screen, offering both views and privacy.
The co-working space inside the Kolgaon clubhouse is designed to be an inspiring place to work. Filtered light from brick screens and a slatted wooden ceiling create a calm and productive atmosphere connected to nature.
The streetscape of the Kolgaon Masterplan is designed to be pedestrian-friendly and community-focused. The low-rise, high-density townhouses are connected by landscaped paths, social greens, and small public spaces like this cafe pavilion.
The social green spaces in the Kolgaon Masterplan are designed to weave through the community. These landscaped courtyards with seating and art connect the private gardens to a larger, shared outdoor environment.
About this collection
In our community and wellness projects, we often utilize a patchwork planning strategy where programmatic volumes, such as sports, dining, or co-working areas, are rotated and stacked to create interconnected spatial experiences. This approach avoids static corridors, instead creating fluid transitions where indoor activities naturally spill out into shared, landscaped green spaces.
Architecture as a Social Catalyst
We approach community and wellness design by viewing the building as a container for human interaction. Instead of traditional, block-like planning, we deconstruct the program into distinct volumes. By twisting and rotating these forms, we respond directly to the specific site conditions and site adjacencies. This methodology allows us to weave indoor and outdoor areas together, ensuring that even a community clubhouse feels open, breathable, and deeply connected to its surroundings.
Case Study: Kolgaon Masterplan
Located in Alibaug, the Kolgaon clubhouse demonstrates our philosophy of the three-dimensional patchwork. We stacked varied programs including sports, games, and co-working spaces. By using a mix of perforated brick screens and transparent glass, we created a facade that remains visually engaging while providing necessary shade and privacy. The streetscape is pedestrian-focused, encouraging residents to walk through landscaped social greens rather than driving through a typical housing sprawl.
Urban Oases: The Sanctuary
In dense urban settings like Hyderabad, our focus shifts to creating inward-looking sanctuaries. The Sanctuary project acts as a lightweight, sustainable extension to an existing home. Using structural timber and wooden screens, we designed an urban oasis that offers a retreat from the city buzz. Features such as the rooftop circular pavilion with an oculus skylight create a meditative atmosphere, while large glass walls ensure the wellness space remains porous and light-filled.
Our Technical Approach
Whether for a community masterplan or a wellness pavilion, we rely on passive cooling and material honesty. We employ brick and timber screens not just for aesthetics, but to facilitate natural ventilation and light filtration. Our process integrates computational design with traditional craftsmanship to ensure every structural detail, from the cast-in-situ concrete to the timber joinery, serves the dual purpose of functionality and atmosphere.
