Sangeet, Baraat & Cocktail Photography: Capturing Real Energy
I’m not here to pose you; I’m here to capture the madness, the wild dance moves, and the real fun that happens when the music kicks in.
A totally mad cocktail party. Shamika and Sumedh, with their fun glasses and drinks in hand, were ready to party with their friends. The fairy lights and their energy made for some awesome photos.
The groom's friends putting on a show at the sangeet. Their coordinated, funny dance moves brought so much energy and laughter to the evening.
A black and white shot from the baraat that focuses on the groom's friend dancing with full energy. Monochrome can really amplify the emotion and action in a chaotic scene.
Even the parents get in on the baraat action. The father of the groom is all smiles as he dances his heart out.
The mother of the groom, looking cool in her sunglasses, joins the dance party. I love capturing the joy of the whole family during the baraat.
The groom's parents dancing together in the baraat procession. Their happiness and energy are a beautiful thing to witness and photograph.
A black and white photo that captures the pure, uninhibited joy of dancing in a baraat. The bride's friend is having the time of her life.
The same fun moment in black and white. It gives the cocktail party photo a classic, timeless party vibe.
More fun and games at the cocktail party. Shamika and Sumedh were just having a blast, and it was so much fun to photograph them.
A classic group photo with the groom and his friends, but with a twist. Pushkar's signature funny face makes this a memorable and fun shot.
About Let's Get This Party Started: Sangeet, Baraat & Cocktails
Getting a great sangeet or cocktail shot isn't about shouting instructions at the crowd; it’s about anticipating the exact moment the groom’s friends decide to hijack the dance floor. I move through the venue like a guest, which helps everyone relax—because when you forget I'm there, that’s when the real, unscripted magic happens.
I’ve spent years in the middle of baraat processions and sangeet stages, and I've learned that the best moments always happen in the gaps between the planned performances. Whether it's a tight lane in Pune or a packed hotel ballroom, my goal is the same: to catch the sweat, the messy hair, the laughter, and the blurred lines of a party that’s actually happening.
Why I Don't Do Staged Poses
When you’re at a cocktail party, you want to be holding a drink and talking to friends, not standing still for a portrait. I keep my gear light and my presence low-key, so I can jump into the chaos to get the shot without killing the vibe. My style is about documentary-first photography—I want your wedding gallery to feel like a recap of the party, not a photoshoot.
Dealing with Low Light and High Speed
Sangeet and cocktail events are notorious for flashy lights and fast motion. I don’t rely on bulk presets to fix things later. I shoot with the intent to capture the ambient energy of the room, using my camera to track the action rather than stopping it. You get sharp images of the dance moves you actually remember, delivered with an edit that stays true to the mood of the night.
If you want someone to line up your guests for rigid group shots, that’s not me. But if you want someone to make sure the baraat madness and the sangeet energy are documented exactly as they felt, let’s talk.
