I love the Haldi and Mehendi madness. It’s never about the perfect pose; it’s about the turmeric-stained hugs, the laughter, and the happy chaos that happens when family and friends truly let go.

Haldi is all about getting covered in yellow, and Rugved's friends and family made sure of that. This is what I call happy chaos, and it makes for the most energetic and fun photos.

A bride showing off her beautiful mehendi from the balcony of her family's old wada. Poorva's joy is infectious, and the setting adds so much character to this pre wedding photo.

When you're the bride at the mehendi, you get taken care of. Here, Disha is being fed by her cousin, a funny and real moment that happens when your hands are covered in henna.

A bride surrounded by her best friends, sharing a laugh. These are the moments that matter. This photo from Sanika's wedding is a perfect ode to friendship and the joy they bring to a wedding.

The energy of the bride's squad. Everyone is dancing, clapping, and celebrating. Capturing the collective joy of the friend group is one of my favorite parts of a wedding.

A mix of laughter and happy tears among friends. One friend gets emotional while others laugh, a beautiful and real moment that shows the deep bonds of friendship.

More dancing and fun with the bride's friends. Their expressions are full of life and uninhibited joy.

A playful moment between the bride and her friend. These candid interactions are what make wedding photos feel personal and unique.

A friend's excited expression during a conversation. I'm always looking for these little moments of connection and emotion among the guests.

A sweet hug between the bride, Neha, and her mother during the Haldi ceremony. Both are covered in yellow and happiness.

About The Color & Chaos: Haldi & Mehendi

During Haldi and Mehendi, I don't stand in the corner with a long lens. I’m right in the middle of it, dodging flying haldi and getting covered in color myself. Whether it’s dodging a splash from an excited aunt or capturing the quiet, sticky moment while henna is being applied, my goal is to get the shot that actually feels like what happened. You won’t find me asking anyone to hold a smile; I'm waiting for the one that breaks out when they aren't looking at the camera.
