Art Deco & Modern Elegance in Residential Design
We blend timeless Art Deco arches with contemporary minimalism. From vaulted ceilings to custom woodwork, we craft homes that balance bold architectural statements with practical living.
The vaulted ceiling is the defining feature of this apartment, creating a sense of grandeur and warmth. This view shows how it connects the dining area with the rest of the home, complemented by geometric floor tiles and a bespoke marble dining table.
A closer look at the dining nook, where the high vaulted ceiling in semi-circular arches makes a statement. The deep grey wall, orb lighting, and custom furniture come together to create a classy, intimate setting for meals.
This video showcases the dining area and its barrel-vaulted ceiling. It also offers a glimpse of the fluted glass sliding door, a key element that cleverly conceals a private home office while adding textural interest.
Here, I reveal the hidden home office behind the dining area. This custom solution was designed for a client who is a graphic designer, featuring triangulated wood panelling and a cushioned seater for a functional, private workspace.
Named 'The Pier', this bedroom uses wide arches and a neutral grey palette to create a placid symphony. The design features a Pierre Jeanneret Chandigarh chair for the study nook and a matte black closet with fluted curved glass as a standout piece.
This mashup reel provides quick glimpses into the 'Tranquil Tides' project. It highlights the material palette, including the olive green sofa, fluted glass details, and the striking marble and wood combinations used throughout the apartment.
The foundational layout for the 'Tranquil Tides' apartment. The plan was designed for a family of four, focusing on creating clean, contemporary spaces with Art Deco touches while ensuring high functionality for their daily routines.
This animated floor plan shows the flow of movement within the apartment. It helps visualize how the family would interact with the space, from the open living area to the private bedrooms, all designed to maximize natural light.
About Art Deco & Modern Elegance
In our Tranquil Tides project, the defining element is the barrel-vaulted ceiling. We utilized this not just for visual appeal, but as a structural decision to heighten the space and connect the dining area to the corridor. This design choice, paired with custom fluted glass sliding doors, allows us to conceal functional areas like home offices without sacrificing the apartment's open, airy floor plan.
The fusion of Art Deco geometry with modern residential design requires a careful hand. Our approach focuses on using architecture to resolve spatial constraints rather than simply applying decorative elements. In the Tranquil Tides project, we addressed the client's need for a private workspace by integrating it directly into the living area using fluted glass screens. This solution maintains the flow of natural light while offering necessary privacy.
We favor a neutral palette—grey tones, oakwood, and marble—to balance the direct light found in Mumbai apartments. By introducing structural elements like arches and vaults, we transform standard ceiling heights into a more dramatic, intimate experience. This method of structural camouflage, where we hide beams and columns through thoughtful design, is a hallmark of our renovation work. Whether we are planning new construction or refurbishing a bungalow, our goal is to create interiors that remain relevant for years, prioritizing clean lines and sustainable material choices like natural stone and wood over passing trends.
