When raagas meet riffs and rhythm meets rage. My band, Viprahar, brings a 6-piece setup that turns traditional Carnatic melodies into high-voltage festival experiences.

Our band, Viprahar, live on stage at AFMC Pune under a spectacular laser light show. This is the kind of large scale production we bring to our festival performances.

A view from the audience at our AFMC Pune show. Performing on a big stage with professional lighting and sound for a massive crowd is an incredible experience.

The whole band together on stage at IIT Madras's Saarang festival. This was a huge milestone for us, our first proshow, and we loved every minute of it.

Sharing a fun moment on stage with my keytarist as he nails a solo during our show in Pune. Our performances are all about this kind of spontaneous energy and interaction.

This after-movie from our concert at AFMC Pune's annual fest, Silhouettes, perfectly captures the electrifying atmosphere of our live band shows.

A candid shot from our performance at Saarang, IIT Madras. The energy from a crowd of over 2000 students is something truly special.

My guitarists owning the stage at AFMC Pune. Our sound is a true fusion, where the power of rock guitar meets the intricacies of Carnatic raagas.

About this collection

This is not a seated concert. When we take the stage for college fests or large festivals, the goal is to get 2,000 plus people singing along to Carnatic ragas mixed with rock beats. With a 6-piece lineup including electric guitar, bass, drums, and violin, we build a setlist that balances intense instrumental solos with the raw power of our tradition.

When we headline a festival, the production has to match the energy. We perform for 90 to 100 minutes, blending popular krithis with high-voltage rock and jazz elements. My band, Viprahar, is designed for large audiences. We travel with a 6-piece setup including electric violin, mandolin, and keys, plus our own sound engineer to ensure the mix hits right, whether it is an open-air ground or an auditorium like IIT Madras. We do not just stand behind microphones. We engage the crowd with rhythm clapping and sing-alongs, making sure the fusion of Carnatic roots and heavy percussion lands with the students. If you are organizing a college cultural fest or a large music festival, we provide a full technical rider covering the stage plot and input lists so your sound vendor knows exactly what we need. It is about creating a space where the raga stays pure but the sound hits loud. We have performed for crowds of 15,000 plus and understand how to control that stage energy.

I am Spoorthi. I grew up with Carnatic music, but I have always wanted to see how far these melodies can go when you plug in an electric guitar and turn up the drums. Performing on massive stages at places like Saarang or AFMC gives me the same rush as singing a traditional kriti. It is loud, it is fun, and I love sharing this energy.
