I document the quiet rituals and authentic family emotions of your child's naming ceremony, focusing on natural, candid moments rather than forced poses.

About Naming Ceremonies & Sacred Milestones

When I shoot naming ceremonies, my goal is to document the event as it happens rather than directing it. My standard 4-hour coverage includes a two-person team, so one of us focuses on the main rituals like the homa and cradle ceremony, while the other captures the candid interactions with guests and siblings. This setup ensures we catch those small, fleeting moments of connection without needing to ask anyone to stop and pose for the camera.

My Approach to Naming Ceremony Photography

I treat naming ceremonies like a documentary. Whether you are hosting a traditional function at a hall in Jayanagar or an intimate gathering at home, my focus remains on the storytelling. I believe the best photos from these days are the ones where you forget I am even there.

What I Capture

  • Sacred Rituals: I make sure to document the key religious elements, including the cradle ceremony, the homa, and the traditional blessings. I use a documentary style so these customs look natural and respectful.
  • Family Dynamics: The interaction between siblings, the quiet smile of a grandparent, and the proud look on a parent's face are the heart of the event. I actively look for these moments throughout the 4-hour coverage.
  • Vibrant Details: I capture the decor, the traditional clothing like the pattu pavadai, and the small, symbolic details that make the day unique to your family.

The Logistics

I use high-resolution Canon mirrorless gear, which allows me to work in indoor lighting conditions without needing harsh flashes that might disturb the baby or the ceremony. My process is designed to be low-stress for you. I simply show up, blend in with your guests, and capture the day as it unfolds. Because I work with a dedicated assistant, we can cover both the wide-angle shots of the venue and the intimate close-up portraits simultaneously, ensuring you receive a comprehensive digital gallery of 120 to 150 processed images.

If you have a specific list of family groups you need for formal portraits, we can set aside a 15-minute window during the event to knock those out efficiently, leaving the rest of the time free for candid photography.
