Yoga Classes in Bangalore: Finding Stillness with Soundarya
Yoga is not just about the mat; it is about the breath you take before a leap or the calm you hold in a storm. Here is how I bring that balance to my practice and our sessions.
In Bir, I learned that focus is key, whether you're paragliding or stacking stones. This act of creating a cairn is a form of active meditation, connecting me to the present moment and the natural world.
A quiet moment of reflection on the water. My yoga practice emphasizes the importance of turning inward and listening to your body and breath, finding a sense of calm amidst the noise of daily life.
Sitting in Sukhasana (Easy Pose) in the beautiful hills of Munnar. This photo captures the feeling of being grounded and content, a state we cultivate through our asana and meditation practice.
About Finding Stillness Everywhere
My sessions go beyond basic stretching. I combine my 200-hour Mysore training with a mix of Hatha and Vinyasa flow to help you find actual strength. It is not about looking perfect in a pose, but about learning how your body moves and using your breath to clear your head.
Yoga taught me that stillness is not just a quiet room; it is something you carry with you. My teacher training in Mysore was a deep dive into discipline, alignment, and how ancient philosophy works for us today. When I teach, I bring that same practical approach to you.
We start with your energy levels. If you need a power flow to wake up your muscles, we do that. If you need restorative Hatha to settle your mind after a long day in Bangalore traffic, we focus on that. My sessions are built on three pillars:
- Breath-Led Movement: Your breath guides the pace. We prioritize alignment so you feel the stretch where it matters, not just where it hurts.
- Real-Life Philosophy: We do not just do asanas. We touch on mindfulness so you can stay calm when things get loud, just like I do on my travels.
- Sound Integration: Drawing from my background as a musician, I often include specific soundscapes or vocal elements that help you stay in the zone during Savasana.
Whether you are a total beginner or looking to deepen your practice, we start where you are. I do in-home sessions across Bangalore, and for those days when you cannot step out, we take it online via Zoom or Google Meet. Banni, let us start moving.
