Meet Ciya Pawa: The Artist Behind Soaked in Canvas
I'm a mom and a self-taught artist based in Gurgaon. I created Soaked in Canvas to help you hit pause, get a little messy with paint, and rediscover the joy of creating without any pressure.
Hi, I'm Ciya Pawa, the artist and founder of Soaked in Canvas. What started as a personal passion project has grown into a community, and I'm so grateful to create and sip with all of you.
Here's a little bit about my journey. I'm a mom who chased a childhood dream to open an art studio. In this video, I share why I believe in the power of creating without stress and connecting with new people through art.
You asked, and I answered. In this video, I cover the top questions about our sip and paint workshops: what they are, why you should try one, and where we host them. It’s all about making art accessible and fun for everyone.
About Meet The Artist
When I opened my studio at M3M Urbana, my goal was simple: creating a space that feels like a living room, not a rigid classroom. You won’t find strict rules here—just comfortable corners, good music, and enough supplies for everyone to get creative. Whether you are joining a group session at my studio or booking me to host at your home, I bring the exact same kit and energy to ensure you actually enjoy the process instead of worrying about the final result.
My journey began in 2021 as a passion project born out of a personal need to find a creative outlet. Being a mom, I know how hard it is to carve out time for yourself, which is why Soaked in Canvas is built around the idea of a 'beautiful creative escape.'
Why I Teach
I believe art should be accessible to everyone, not just those who went to art school. My workshops—whether it’s canvas painting, tote bag design, or knife painting—are designed for absolute beginners. We keep things light, relaxed, and social.
Our Spaces & Setup
I host sessions in two ways:
- My Gurgaon Studio: Located at M3M Urbana, this is my happy place. It’s perfect for intimate groups who want a calm, sunlit setting to paint and sip coffee.
- Mobile Workshops: I also travel across Delhi NCR to cafes, offices, or your own home. I bring the supplies, the aprons, and the good vibes—you just bring your enthusiasm.
What to Expect
Most sessions last between 2 to 2.5 hours. I guide you step-by-step through the process, but I always encourage you to add your own flair. Whether you are coming alone, with a partner, or for a team-building event, the goal is the same: leaving with a piece you made yourself and feeling a little lighter than when you walked in.
Soaked in Canvas
I'm Ciya, a mom and artist based in Gurgaon. I started Soaked in Canvas to help people step away from their screens, grab a brush, and have a good laugh while they create. It’s not about being a perfect painter; it's about enjoying the mess and the conversation.
