Backyard Golf Green Installation Process in Delhi NCR
A professional golf green requires more than just laying grass. My installation process focuses on base compaction and material quality to ensure your surface remains smooth and level for years.
I use a heavy turf roller on every installation. This tool is essential for creating a perfectly smooth and level surface for a true ball roll.
A close look at the artificial turf I use. The lines from brushing show the quality of the material, which is designed to perform like a real golf green.
About Built to Last: Our Process
I use heavy turf rollers on every installation to ensure the base is rock solid. If the foundation is soft or uneven, your turf will eventually sink or wrinkle, which ruins the ball roll. I never skip this step because a flat, firm surface is the difference between a real practice area and a cheap mat.
The secret to a long-lasting golf green is what you cannot see: the base preparation. Before the artificial golf turf goes down, I install a weed barrier and a compacted layer of stone dust or sand. This is the only way to prevent weeds from growing through and to ensure the surface stays flat over time.
For the turf itself, I use industrial synthetic grass adhesive and galvanized U-pins. These keep the edges secure so they do not lift or cause tripping. I also pay close attention to how the seams join together. If these joints are not done properly, the gaps become visible and the golf ball deviates from its path.
My process includes:
- Site Leveling: Especially important for contoured greens to ensure the slopes stay consistent through monsoons and heavy foot traffic.
- Material Selection: Using high-density multi-directional grass for true ball speed.
- Finishing: Sand trap lining and flag placement to ensure the setup performs like a real course.
I do not take shortcuts. Whether you are adding a putting green to a small balcony or a full mini-golf setup in your backyard, the foundation remains my priority.
