Custom Backyard Putting Greens for Home Practice
I design putting greens to fit your actual backyard layout. Whether it is a small corner or a large lawn, I build custom shapes with slopes and bunkers that work around your existing trees and patios.

Here is a smaller green built into a garden with existing plants and stone walls. The custom shape and rock edging make it look like a natural part of the landscape.

Even in a more compact backyard, I can install a functional putting green. This setup is perfect for daily practice and fits neatly into a fenced-in area.
About Custom Backyard Greens
When I build these greens, I focus entirely on the sub base before laying any turf. Many people think the grass is the most important part, but if you do not use a proper weed barrier and compact the stone dust base with a heavy roller, the green will unevenly sink after a few heavy rains. I use crushed stone layers to keep your putting surface flat and consistent, so your ball roll stays true over time.
How I Design Your Golf Green
I do not work with pre-made, cookie-cutter shapes. Every backyard is different, with its own slopes, trees, and obstacles. I assess your garden to create a custom layout that flows naturally around your existing landscape. If you have a small space, we can do a flat surface putting area. If you have more room, I can add artificial slopes, sand traps with white silica sand, and multiple holes to create a more challenging experience.
The Technical Specs
My installations are built to last through Delhi NCR weather. For the putting surface, I use 15mm commercial grade curly polypropylene turf. This allows for realistic ball speed. For the fringe or rough areas, I install 40mm to 45mm dense artificial grass to help with chipping practice. Everything is secured with galvanized U pins and industrial-grade PU synthetic grass adhesive. I take care of the base preparation, including leveling the soil and installing a weed barrier, so you do not have to worry about maintenance or grass growing up through your green.
Pricing and Process
My pricing depends on the complexity of your space:
- Flat Surface: ₹170 to ₹200 per square foot. This is ideal for a standard, level practice area.
- Contoured Mini Golf Setup: ₹280 to ₹330 per square foot. This includes terrain sculpting, sand traps, and multi-hole layouts.
I always recommend a site visit to check your garden layout, drainage, and current ground condition. This helps me plan the breaks and slopes before we start any work.
