Most of these setups are not just flat squares. I shape the turf to flow around your existing trees and garden beds so it looks like it belongs in your yard. I also use a heavy turf roller on every job to make sure the base is solid and the ball rolls straight, because if the base is not perfectly level, the practice is not worth it.
My Approach to Backyard Golf
I do not do cookie-cutter designs. When I visit your home in Delhi or Gurugram, I look at your space—whether it is a small fenced-in garden or a large open lawn—and I plan the layout based on where you want the holes and how you want the curves to flow.
Construction and Materials
- Base Preparation: A good green starts underneath. I clear the site, lay a weed barrier, and use crushed stone dust compacted with a heavy turf roller. This prevents sinking and keeps the surface flat.
- Turf Quality: I use 15mm commercial-grade polypropylene for the putting surface to ensure true ball speed. For the rough areas, I install 40mm to 45mm dense artificial grass that mimics real course rough for your chipping practice.
- Features: I can build in sand traps (bunkers) using fine white silica sand and install multiple holes with flags so you can practice different angles.
Why Artificial?
These greens are maintenance-free. You do not need to water, mow, or fertilize them. They stay green all year round, even during the harsh summer heat in Delhi NCR. If you have an unused corner in your garden, this is a practical way to actually use that space for something you enjoy.
My Process
Once we discuss your layout, I handle the custom cutting and industrial-grade seaming. I use galvanized U-pins to secure everything to the ground, so it does not shift when you are practicing your short game.
