About Lush Green Lawns
Installing a lawn is about the foundation, not just the grass. I start by digging the topsoil up to 6 inches deep to aerate it, then mix in decomposed cow dung manure and anti-termite treatments. I don't just lay the turf; I use a heavy roller to remove air gaps and flood-water the area immediately so the grass settles properly into its new home.
Building Your Perfect Lawn
Many people think a lawn is just about rolling out grass. Real, healthy lawns need a strong foundation. When I take up a project in Delhi NCR, I follow a strict process to ensure your lawn stays green and vibrant without constant fuss.
The Foundation (Mitti ki Taiyari)
Before any grass goes down, the ground needs love. I manually clear debris, weeds, and stones. I dig the topsoil (4-6 inches) to mix in Nitrogen boosters and old cow dung manure. This enriches the soil, creating a nutrient-dense bed for the roots to thrive. I also apply an anti-termite treatment at this stage to protect your investment from the ground up.
Choosing Your Grass
I work primarily with Selection No. 1 and Mexican Carpet grass. These varieties perform well in our Delhi, Noida, and Gurugram climate. They provide that soft, uniform look that makes a yard feel like a retreat.
Installation and Handover
After the grass rolls are laid, I use a heavy roller to press the turf. This removes air pockets that could dry out the roots. Finally, I flood-water the entire area to help the grass bond with the soil.
