Deepen your understanding of yoga beyond the physical. Join our traditional retreats and philosophy sessions in Amboli, rooted in the Sivananda lineage.

Understanding the three states of consciousness, waking, dream, and deep sleep, is fundamental to Vedanta. In my philosophy lectures, I use simple diagrams to explain these profound concepts and guide students toward understanding the true Self.

The early morning light fills the yoga hall as I sit for my personal meditation. This quiet time for self-practice is the source of the energy and clarity I bring to my teaching throughout the day.

Two Swamis conduct a Homa, or fire ceremony, a powerful Vedic ritual for purification. The smoke carries our prayers and offerings, and the mantras chanted during the ceremony elevate the consciousness of all who are present.

The Homa ceremony is a central part of our spiritual life at the ashram. It is a practice of Bhakti Yoga, the path of devotion, which complements the intense physical practice of Hatha Yoga.

A Guru Purnima puja, where students offer their respects to the lineage of teachers. This ceremony is a beautiful expression of gratitude and devotion, acknowledging the light of knowledge passed down through generations.

This video captures the atmosphere of a traditional puja, with students and teachers gathered to chant sacred mantras. The sound vibrations and the light from the diyas create a deeply meditative and sacred space.

During Satsang, we gather for meditation, chanting, and spiritual discourse. Here, I am leading the chanting, a practice that helps to focus the mind and open the heart, preparing the ground for deeper spiritual insights.

The practice of kirtan, or devotional chanting, is an essential part of Bhakti yoga. It is a joyful and powerful method for channeling emotions towards the divine and experiencing a sense of unity with all.

About Spiritual Practice & Philosophy

Our approach is not a fitness regimen but a disciplined path of Sadhana. You will not find modified poses or quick-fix wellness here. Instead, expect to engage with the Bhagavad Gita and Hatha Yoga Pradipika, learning how to steady the mind through breath control and traditional Vedic practices. Whether in our Hatha Yoga Sadhana Intensive or our philosophy workshops, the focus remains on personal transformation over physical appearance.
