College Workshops & Interactive Art Sessions
Bringing energy and live caricature to your campus. Whether it is a hands-on mascot design workshop or a motivational guest lecture, let’s make art fun, technical, and memorable for your students.
A highlight of my college sessions is the live caricature demonstration. I invite a student volunteer on stage and draw them in real-time, with the whole process shown on a big screen. It’s an engaging way to demonstrate art principles and always brings out a lot of smiles.
Here is a view from the classroom during a mascot design session at Dr. DY Patil University. You can see the students engaged as I walk them through the different elements of character design, from initial sketches to final details, all displayed on the main screen.
In my hands-on mascot design workshops, I use digital tools to teach character development. This image shows me presenting a complete mascot concept to B.Des students, explaining how each attribute contributes to the character's personality and story.
A wonderful group photo with the talented design students at Dr. DY Patil University. These workshops are not just about teaching, but also about connecting with the next generation of artists and designers in a fun, informal setting.
About College Workshops & Interactive Sessions
For these workshops, I bring my iPad and hook it up directly to your projector. This way, every student in the hall gets a front-row view of my sketching process in real-time, right from the initial rough strokes to the final inked masterpiece. It makes the theory practical and keeps the room engaged because they are actually seeing the techniques happen as I explain them.
My goal with every college session is to skip the boring, long-winded lectures. Instead, I focus on a 'watch and replicate' style that bridges the gap between raw talent and technical skill.
What we cover in my sessions:
- Mascot Design Workshops: We start from a blank page and move into character development. I teach students how to define a mascot’s personality through shape rules and anatomy, turning concepts into a final digital design.
- Caricature Fundamentals: This is all about exaggeration and observation. I break down facial proportions and show students how to spot the features that make a face unique—this is the secret to a great caricature.
- Guest Lectures: For larger auditorium events, I blend industry reality with my personal journey. I share the ups and downs of life as an artist, followed by a live, projected caricature demonstration of a volunteer on stage.
Making it work for your campus
I have had the privilege of working with design students at institutions like Dr. DY Patil University and guesting at events like Visionata. My setup is simple: I need a projector, an HDMI connection, and a microphone. Everything else is hands-on. Whether you are running a college cultural festival or a dedicated design week, I bring the energy, the technical breakdown, and plenty of room for Q&A. If your students are ready to get their hands dirty and learn the actual workflow behind digital caricature or mascot branding, let's connect and plan a session.
