From Palace Grounds state-level competitions to the Mental Math World Cup, see how our makkalu are building the confidence to compete and win.

This video captures the energy of our SIP Karnataka state-level competition. Seeing almost 4000 of my students participating together is a powerful reminder of the confidence and skill they build here. It’s not just about maths, it’s about performing with focus on a big stage.

A close-up of my student Reyansh, proudly holding his Certificate of Excellence and medal. His success in the Mental Math World Cup is an inspiration to all the makkalu at my center.

This is the official country topper list for the Mental Math World Cup 2024. It's a proud moment to see my student Reyansh's name and photo featured here with an India Rank 2.

The excitement is real. This is a fun clip of my students reacting to the news that they are heading to the state-level competition at Palace Grounds. I love seeing their enthusiasm and team spirit.

A glimpse into our graduation and awards ceremony. We celebrate every child's hard work with certificates and trophies, recognizing their dedication throughout the year.

Here I am with my fellow teachers and the founder of SIP Abacus at a competition event. We work as a team to ensure our students get the best guidance and support.

About this collection

The trophies you see are the end result, but the real magic happens in those quiet moments when a child stops counting on fingers and starts visualizing numbers. We do not coach kids just to win medals, although seeing our students secure ranks in the Mental Math World Cup is incredibly rewarding; we coach them to overcome the mental block that makes them say I can't do this. When a student who was once afraid of basic addition suddenly solves 30 sums in five minutes, that shift in confidence is the real victory.

Building Confidence Beyond The Classroom

Many parents approach us when they notice their child struggling with math anxiety or using fingers to count well past the age they should. Our goal isn't to create human calculators, but to build a foundation of focus and speed using the abacus and Vedic math sutras.

When we take our students to events like the state-level competitions at Palace Grounds, they aren't just there to compete. They are there to normalize the feeling of pressure and learn how to manage it. Watching 4,000 children sit in one hall, focused on their papers, is a powerful exercise in discipline.

How We Prepare For Success

Success in these competitions doesn't happen by accident. Our preparation involves:

  • Brain Gym Coordination: We start sessions with exercises that align the left and right brain, helping students focus better before they even touch a math problem.
  • Timed Speed Writing: This improves handwriting and mental processing speed, which is crucial for high-pressure Olympiads.
  • Visualizing Numbers: Instead of memorizing formulas, we teach students to see the numbers. This is why students like Reyansh can achieve high ranks in the Mental Math World Cup—they aren't calculating; they are visualizing.

We keep our batches small, usually 10 to 15 students for offline classes, so we can track exactly how each child solves a problem. Whether it is an online class with students from across the city or a packed center in Basavanagudi, the objective remains the same: helping your child feel capable of solving any problem they face, whether it is on a test paper or in life.
