About Behind the Seams: My Design Process
When you see the pleats on a gown or the exact placement of 3D floral appliqués, it might look simple. But behind the scenes, that is hours of precision work. Whether I am adjusting the flair for a lehenga or stitching a detachable tail on a maternity gown, my process is entirely focused on making the garment practical for you to move in comfortably.
How I Make My Designs
I started Silk Boutique because I believe you do not need to spend a bomb to look fab. My design process is pretty straightforward—I focus on functionality and versatility.
The 'Transformer' Approach
Most of the pieces you see here are designed to do more. I love adding detachable elements—removable sleeves, tails that can be taken off after the photoshoot, and adjustable skirts. It is a hack to give you two looks with one garment. If you are prepping for a maternity shoot or a pre-wedding event in Navi Mumbai, this saves you space and money.
Upcycling & Sustainability
I am huge on #sustainablefashion. If you have an old lehenga or gown sitting in your closet, bring it to my Kharghar store. I do not just stitch; I redesign. We can take that piece you stopped wearing and convert it into something trendy.
Precision Fit & Care
Every piece in the collection is my own work, from the initial cut to the final finishing. Since I am a self-taught designer, I know exactly where outfits usually pinch or feel heavy. That is why I personally handle the fitting adjustments at the store.
If you want a specific silhouette for Navratri or a birthday, come by for a trial. We can fix the pleats and waist adjustments on the spot so you leave with an outfit that fits you perfectly.
Silk Boutique
I am a self-taught designer and the person behind Silk Boutique in Kharghar. I created this space so you can wear gorgeous, high-quality outfits without spending a fortune. I handle everything from initial design sketches to final fittings, ensuring you leave feeling confident.
