The Shukrana Design Process: Your Vision Realized
From the first sketch to the final fitting, I guide you through crafting a piece that is uniquely yours. Whether you have a clear vision or a collection of heirloom fabrics waiting for a new life, let us start creating.
A day in my life as a boutique owner involves everything from draping new designs and organizing fabrics to sketching ideas and consulting with clients. My goal is to personally oversee every step of the creation process.
The bespoke process is a team effort. This video shows me in consultation with a client, selecting fabrics, and working with my master tailor to take precise measurements, ensuring a perfect fit.
My boutique is where your vision comes to life. From style consultations and browsing our ethnic wear collections to choosing from quality fabrics, I am here to guide you through every step of creating your perfect outfit.
The foundation of any great outfit is the fabric. I am always refreshing my collection with beautiful materials like these printed and solid linens, perfect for creating everything from summer dresses to office wear.
Client diaries are my favorite. Here, I am helping a client style a ready-to-wear black saree in my boutique, ensuring the fit and drape are just right for her. Your happiness is my top priority.
About The Shukrana Experience: Our Process
Every garment I create starts with a conversation, often over tea, where we map out your vision. Whether you bring a rough sketch or a family heirloom saree that needs a modern silhouette, I spend time understanding exactly what you need. This clarity ensures that when we move to fabric selection and embroidery, the final outfit reflects your personality rather than just following a trend.
How We Work Together
The Initial Consultation Design is a conversation. When you visit my studio in Seawoods, Navi Mumbai, we don't start with a catalog. We start by discussing the occasion—whether it is a wedding, a festive event, or a casual gathering. If you have an existing piece of fabric or a saree you want to repurpose, bring it along. I love the challenge of transforming a grandmother's saree into a contemporary Anarkali or a new lehenga.
Fabric & Design Selection Once we define the silhouette, I help you select materials that balance comfort and aesthetics. Whether it is lightweight Georgette for a summer event or rich raw silk for a bridal function, I source fabrics that suit your comfort level. We then finalize the sketch, deciding on necklines, sleeve lengths, and the level of embellishment.
The Art of Embroidery My team of karigars then steps in. We specialize in specific handwork techniques, including Kundan, Zardosi, Aari, and Cut-dana. Unlike mass-produced clothing, we map out every motif—be it traditional dulhan doli patterns or modern florals—to ensure it complements the cut of your outfit.
Fittings & Finish Fit is the difference between an outfit that looks good and one that feels great. For complex pieces like bridal lehengas, I conduct multiple fittings to adjust the waist, bust, and flare, ensuring you can move comfortably. Every garment is finished with details like concealed zippers, reinforced lining, and color-matched handmade tassels, ensuring it is ready for you to wear with confidence.
