Choreography & Movement Design for Fashion Shows
I design movement for runways and brand launches, blending rhythm and spatial awareness to ensure your collection is the center of attention.
For Falguni Shane Peacock at Hyundai India Couture Week, I designed the movement to complement the ethereal and dramatic nature of their collection. The choreography on the multi-level stage aimed to create a living, breathing art installation where fashion and dance merged.
A look at the runway for Westside's 25th-anniversary fashion show. I designed the choreography and show flow to celebrate a quarter-century of the brand's style, blending model walks with dynamic movement sequences.
This performance, "Earth Song," was part of Bharat Tex 2024, an exposition on sustainable fashion. The choreography used earthy tones and fluid movements to reflect the theme of sustainability and our connection to nature.
Choreographing the opening performance for D'Decor's new brand, Sansaar, at the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre. The dance used flowing fabrics and graceful movements to embody the sophisticated essence of the furnishing brand.
For the launch of Molteni & C furniture, I created "fluid experiences" where dancers interacted with the stunning designs. The movement stories were choreographed to highlight the elegance and functionality of the furniture within a home setting.
A powerful shot from the "Sway" campaign for designers Shantanu & Nikhil. The choreography focused on capturing the dynamic energy and fluidity of their garments, blending fashion with high-impact contemporary dance.
Another image from the Shantanu & Nikhil campaign, showcasing a complex lift and split that highlights both the athleticism of the dancers and the structure of the clothing. This is where fashion photography meets performance art.
A dramatic pose from the Shantanu & Nikhil Summer 2022 campaign. The choreography aimed to create sculptural shapes with the body and fabric, resulting in visually arresting images.
This photo from the "Sway" campaign captures a moment of dynamic balance and connection between two dancers. The movement was designed to showcase the interplay of strength and grace inherent in the collection.
A moment of fluid motion from the Shantanu & Nikhil campaign. The choreography emphasized extension and flow, allowing the fabric of the garments to become a key part of the visual narrative.
About Movement for Fashion & Brands
People often assume I teach complex dance steps for runways, but it is actually about movement design—how models enter, where they pivot, and how they hold the space. For a show, I focus on the rhythm of the walk and how to sync music cues with the clothing, ensuring the choreography supports the garments rather than overpowering them.
When I work with fashion designers or brands like Falguni Shane Peacock, Westside, or Satya Paul, my job is to create a living, breathing art installation. It starts long before the models hit the ramp. I handle the entire show flow, from soundscaping—where I edit tracks to perfectly align with specific model walks—to the technical blocking of the stage.
My approach varies based on the brand's vision. For high-fashion couture, the movement needs to be ethereal and slow, allowing the audience to appreciate the craftsmanship. For high-energy commercial launches, we introduce dynamic, fluid interactions between models and dancers to create excitement.
I also coordinate with your production team for cue management and rehearsal. Whether it is a small, intimate product reveal or a grand stadium showcase, I ensure that everyone on stage knows their marks, their timing, and their purpose. This is not about learning steps; it is about owning the space and making sure your brand narrative is communicated through every movement on the ramp.
