About Movement Direction for Screen & Digital Media
Movement as Storytelling
Movement is my language. I see the screen not just as a backdrop, but as a space to shape character, mood, and emotion through every gesture, not just dance. Whether it's a snappy brand film or a whole web series, I live for those moments when movement says what words can't.
More Than Steps - It's Character
I don't just plan dance steps. I choreograph everything that happens in between - the silences, the tension, the little details that make a scene feel real. My thing is narrative movement; finding the rhythm in a story, not forcing it.
What I Do
- Choreographing for commercials, like turning a brand into energy for campaigns with Ritu Kumar, Westside, and more
- Visual storytelling for ads: capturing cricket fan 'josh' (energy) with pure body language for Campa, or making furniture move for Molteni & C
- Music videos and web series: blending folk and contemporary for Kutle Khan, or integrating body language in web series like "Influencer Life" on Amazon miniTV - all about keeping things real, not just breaking into a dance
My Process
Story comes first, always. I start with the director's vision, then build movement that fits the scene. Sometimes it's loud, sometimes it's subtle, but it's never just for show.
Collaboration All The Way
Every project is a team effort. My assistants, dancers, and I work everywhere - city studios, Rajasthan deserts, wherever the story leads. Nothing staged, just honest collaboration.

My Story
Hey, I’m Shohini. Been a dancer and choreographer for ages, but after years offstage, I’m finally back performing in 'Quest'—feels wild! When I’m not dancing, you’ll find me on Indian trains, sipping chai, munching samosas, loving every bit of the chaos. Wildlife trips? Hell yes—Pench, Tadoba, always a thrill. Got my diver’s certificate too, so the sea’s calling! My Mamma’s my spirit guide—full of life, always pushing me to try new things.
My Work
Choreography & Movement Direction - I create movement for big events, fashion films, music videos, concerts, and TV ads.
Narrative Choreography - I tell stories through movement, not just steps—body language, rhythm, no hook steps.
Epic Event Productions - Love directing stadium shows and large-scale performances—mad roller coaster energy!
Creative Mentorship - I mentor artists and teams, helping them shape their creative vision and confidence.
Collaboration - Working with dream teams—dancers, choirs, creatives—is what keeps the magic alive.
