Runway Show Styling
There is nothing like the rush of a live fashion show. I bring the chaos and the glam together, from mapping the flow to dressing showstoppers who own the stage.
The final walk is always a celebration. Here I am on the ramp with my showstoppers and models after a successful show, soaking in the amazing energy from the audience.
On the runway with my showstopper, Deep. I styled him in a black sequined jacket over a sheer top for a look that is both edgy and glamorous, perfect for high-fashion menswear.
A closer look at the show opener, model Anshika. I styled her in a tiara and long, sparkling earrings to complement the delicate floral details on the neckline of her pink gown for Couture Runway Week.
A candid moment on the runway. The soft lighting catches the layers of the pink tulle gown, showcasing the movement and texture of the fabric as the model walks.
The full look on the Couture Runway Week stage. The pink ball gown makes a statement with its voluminous skirt and detailed bodice, creating a fairytale moment.
Another angle of the show-opening gown, highlighting the sequined bodice and delicate straps. My goal was to create a look that felt both grand and modern for the runway.
About Runway Shows
A runway look has to do two things: survive the walk and command the stage. Whether it is handling heavy tulle or styling a showstopper in sequins, I focus on how the fabric moves under the spotlight. It is about more than just fitting the model; it is ensuring the garment creates that 'wow' moment the second they step out.
The Runway Rush
Styling for the ramp is where the real adrenaline is. When I take on a show, I am not just handing out clothes. I am thinking about the music, the mood, and exactly how the ensemble will look as the lights hit it. It is about building a visual story that makes sense from the first walk to the finale.
Showstoppers & Openers
These are the stars of the show. I build these looks to be the defining moment of the collection—think high-drama sequins or structured coats that demand attention. These pieces need to pack a punch from a distance, which is why I favor bold textures and intricate embellishments that catch the light perfectly.
Movement is Key
You can have the most beautiful dress, but if it does not move well, the walk is ruined. I do extensive fitting sessions to check hemlines and train lengths, making sure the model can own the ramp without any wardrobe mishaps. If it is a gown, I check how the tulle flows. If it is menswear, I make sure the jacket structure stays crisp while the model is in motion.
Backstage Chaos
That is my second home. It is tight, it is fast, and it needs a calm head. My assistant and I handle everything from steaming the last creases to pinning the final drape right before the model hits the stage. We keep the energy high but the organization tight so you never have to worry about a missing accessory or a loose hem before the cue.
