Runway Show Styling and Collection Casting
The runway is a living, breathing story. I collaborate with designers to cast and style collections that do not just walk, they make a statement.

This look for the Huemn show featured a deconstructed suit with a sheer top, playing with tailoring and transparency.

For this Huemn look, we used makeup to create a raw, earthy texture on the skin, complementing the deconstructed garment.

About Runway Vision: Show Styling & Casting
When I work on a runway show, the casting is just as important as the tailoring. For a collection like Huemn, I do not just pick models, I look for a specific attitude that matches the garment's narrative. We do not just style the look; we build the character of the walk, ensuring the hair, makeup, and accessories reinforce the designer's vision before the first model even hits the floor.
Staging a runway show is a high-pressure, collaborative dance. It requires total synchronization between the hair and makeup team, the photographer, the show director, and the models. My approach to fashion show production is rooted in creating a narrative, not just dressing individuals. Whether it is a deconstructed suit or a distressed denim ensemble, every piece has to communicate the brand identity.
The Casting & Styling Synergy
In a runway setting, styling dictates the movement. I focus heavily on how a garment sits on different body types and how that translates in motion. This is where casting becomes a crucial part of the styling process. I scout for faces that bring a raw, authentic energy to the collection. It is about finding that perfect match between the model’s persona and the designer's intent.
Technical Execution
My kit includes the heavy-duty logistics required backstage at events like Lakme Fashion Week. This includes:
- Hair & Makeup Directives: Creating a cohesive aesthetic that complements the textures, whether it is raw, earthy skin or high-gloss finishes.
- Quick-Change Logistics: Ensuring garments are runway-ready, steamed, and fitted for split-second backstage transitions.
- Art Direction: Collaborating with photographers to capture the essence of the collection for archival and social media use.
My goal is to create a seamless visual experience where the styling feels inevitable and the collection feels complete. If you are a designer looking to craft a show that resonates, let us talk about the narrative your collection is waiting to tell.
Devanshi Tuli
I do not believe in solo runs. My runway work is a collaborative dance between the designer's dream, the hair and makeup artists, and the models who bring it all to life. I am simply the conductor, making sure every detail clicks into place.
