About From Sketch to Stitch: The Making Of
Before we touch a single piece of fabric, we sit down with you to sketch out your vision. Whether you are bringing a mood board from Instagram or looking to upcycle an old dupatta into a new statement blouse, we focus on the fabric choice and measurements first. This collaborative start ensures that when you come in for your raw fit check, the silhouette is already forming exactly the way you imagined it.
Our design process is where the magic happens. It is not just about making clothes, but about telling your story through embroidery, fit, and color. When you visit our Malad studio, we look at every detail from the neckline and back cuts to the volume of your lehenga skirt.
The Journey of Your Outfit
- Consultation & Sketching: We start by listening. Tell us the vibe. Are we going for a quirky Haldi look or a heavy bridal lehenga? We sketch it out so you can see the concept before we cut the fabric.
- Fabric Selection: From raw silk to georgette, we help you pick materials that feel great and drape perfectly. We also specialize in custom dyeing, so if you have a specific pastel shade in mind, we match it.
- Handwork & Karigari: This is the labor of love. Our master karigars spend hours on Zardozi, mirror work, or pearl beading. No mass production here. Each bead and stitch is placed by hand.
- The Fit Check: We believe an outfit should be made for your body, not a mannequin. We invite you for at least one raw fit session to ensure the bodice, hemline, and drape are spot on before we finish the piece.
Have an old outfit collecting dust? We love upcycling. Bring us that heavy saree or that sentimental dupatta you cannot part with, and we will rework it into a contemporary set or a designer blouse.
