About Behind the Seams: Our Craftsmanship
I don't just cut and stitch. Every blouse begins with a precise pattern-making process, followed by industrial overlocking for clean, durable seams. Whether it is adding a soft mul-mul lining for breathability or applying fusing for that crisp festive silhouette, I ensure the internal construction is as strong as the design.
When you choose a custom blouse, you are trusting me with your fabric and your vision. That is why my workshop in Santacruz, Mumbai, is built around transparency and detail.
The Anatomy of a Perfect Blouse
It starts with the layout. I mark and cut based on your specific measurements, ensuring the pattern aligns perfectly with the fabric print. For festive pieces, I apply structural fusing to necklines and plackets to prevent that saggy look, keeping the blouse sharp from the first wear to the last.
Durability Meets Comfort
I am obsessed with the 'inside' of the blouse. I use industrial lock-stitch machines to prevent fraying, and every inner seam is overlocked. If you are ordering an everyday blouse, I use sweat-absorbent mul-mul lining. For silk or brocade, I ensure the lining is color-matched and soft against your skin, even with heavy embroidery.
Your Role in the Process
Tailoring is a collaboration. When you bring your saree, I look at the drape and the weight of the fabric before suggesting a cut. If you want a deep back but are worried about support, I include features like reinforced hooks or specific strap loops. This is not just assembly line work. Every piece receives the same attention, whether it is a simple cotton daily-wear blouse or a heavy Zardozi festive statement piece.
