About Textured & Expressive Painting
When working with textures, we focus on the physics of your medium—how much modeling paste to layer versus how quickly it sets. You will learn to control palette knives to create three-dimensional peaks and valleys on your canvas, turning flat surfaces into tactile, expressive pieces of art.
What makes textured art different is the physical response you get from the canvas. Unlike traditional flat painting, texture painting demands an understanding of consistency and depth. In our studio, we guide you through the use of heavy-body acrylics and professional-grade modeling paste.
Impasto is a cornerstone of our textured painting sessions. Using palette knives instead of traditional brushes, you learn to manipulate paste, creating raised surfaces that catch light and shadow. We also teach one-stroke decorative painting, a technique that allows for the creation of intricate botanical details—like soft flower petals—in a single, fluid brush motion.
Whether you are a beginner or looking to add dimension to your existing portfolio, these workshops are designed to be hands-on. We provide all the specialized supplies, including various grades of knives, pastes, and substrates, so you only need to bring your enthusiasm. Our sessions in Koramangala are structured to be stress-free; there is no pressure to create a perfect piece. Instead, we encourage you to experiment with different densities and layering methods until you find the style that resonates with you.
For those working on larger or more complex projects, we offer support in long-term drying and curing, ensuring your artwork remains structurally sound. From abstract landscapes to tactile florals, explore how tactile elements transform your creative output.
