Bring the grandeur of South Indian temple architecture home with our handcrafted Yaali brackets, celestial Apsaras, and mythical bird panels.

A pair of magnificent 36-inch Yaali brackets, carved in a rich wax brown finish. These mythical creatures, depicted subduing elephants, are powerful symbols often used in South Indian temple architecture.

This pair of 3-foot vertical panels features peacocks on pillars, painted in vibrant, contrasting colors. They are designed to be hung as a mirrored pair, creating a stunning decorative statement.

A 36-inch horizontal panel depicting five celestial Apsaras in various dance poses. The natural wood finish highlights the fluid carving and makes it a sophisticated piece of wall art.

This set includes a wooden mirror frame with an arched design, flanked by two multicolored parrot brackets. It's a functional and highly decorative set for an entryway or bedroom.

Watch our artisan meticulously sanding a 15-inch wooden Hamsa (divine swan). This piece is designed as a tabletop sculpture, showcasing the fine feather details and smooth finish.

A 36-inch wooden Apsara panel, identical to a previous one, shown here to emphasize its availability and consistent quality.

A special 4-foot carving of a horse rider, demonstrating our skill in capturing dynamic scenes. The hands of an artisan are seen giving it a final check.

About this collection

When choosing architectural brackets like the Yaali or elephant motifs, remember these are structural-grade pieces designed for multi-angle viewing. Unlike flat wall panels, these function best in transitional spaces—framing a doorway, supporting a heavy shelf, or accenting a pooja room entrance. They arrive with pre-drilled holes for mounting, so we recommend having a carpenter ready to secure them into solid walls to properly manage their density and weight.

Our architectural collection bridges the gap between temple heritage and modern interior design. Every piece is carved from seasoned Vaagai or Rain Tree wood, which is naturally termite-resistant and dense enough to hold intricate detail without cracking over time.

Understanding Your Piece

  • The Yaali & Elephant Brackets: These are carved on three sides (front, left, right) because they are designed to fit the 90-degree corners of doorways or beams. They are not just decorative; they carry the weight of tradition, often serving as structural accents.
  • Mythical Figures (Hamsa, Apsaras, Gandharvas): These are lighter, relief-carved pieces meant for wall mounting. The Hamsa (divine swan) and Apsara panels are finished to highlight the depth of the carving, whether you choose our classic Wax Brown—which lets the wood grain breathe—or our hand-painted multicolor finish.

Craftsmanship & Installation

We operate out of Thammampatty, Salem, and every bracket is GI-certified. This certification confirms that we use traditional, non-mechanized tools to shape the wood, ensuring the lines remain sharp and the facial expressions of the figures retain their mythological character. Because we use solid wood blocks with interlocking joinery, these pieces are heavy. When you receive your order, you will find reinforced brackets or keyhole hooks already routed into the back. We suggest mounting these with industrial-strength hardware rather than standard nails to ensure they stay secure for years.
