This video displays a collection of our works, featuring a blue-faced Vishnu mask on the wall, a Hanuman statue on a pedestal, and a Ganesha panel, showing how different pieces can be curated.

Our antique-finish Shiva face mask is shown here, paired with a statue of a celestial drummer. The combination creates a dynamic display of divine art.

About this collection

When selecting a mask, consider the finish that best fits your interior. We carve these from seasoned Vaagai or Rain Tree wood, which is naturally resistant to termites and warping. Every piece comes with a heavy-duty keyhole hook routed directly into the back, so you can securely mount it on your wall with a single screw. The finish is hand-sanded to 320-grit smoothness, ensuring that the intricate facial expressions remain the focus while the wood texture feels refined.

Traditional Art, Modern Spaces

These masks and busts are not merely decorative items. They are scaled-down representations of the forms found in South Indian temple architecture. By bringing them into your home, you are adding a piece of Thammampatty’s carving legacy to your living space.

The Material and Craft

We exclusively use seasoned Vaagai or Rain Tree wood for our masks. This wood is chosen for its structural integrity and its ability to hold fine details, from the delicate lines of a deity’s jewelry to the texture of the facial hair. Each piece undergoes chemical treatment against termites before we begin the carving process, ensuring the longevity of your sculpture.

Finishing Touches

You have two primary finish options to choose from:

  • Natural Wax Brown: This classic finish highlights the raw grain of the wood, providing a subtle, earthy aesthetic that complements traditional home interiors.
  • Multicolor Antique: We use hand-painted techniques to define the features, which is ideal if you want the mask to stand out as a bold statement piece.

Dimensions and Display

Most of our masks range from 9 to 24 inches in height. Because they are three-dimensional, they create a natural shadow depth on your wall that flat panels cannot achieve. If you are planning a themed display—such as the eternal pairing of Shiva and Nandi—we can guide you on selecting sizes that complement each other. As these pieces are handcrafted, slight variations in the grain are a sign of their authenticity and GI-certified origin.
