Here, we don't chase the perfect pose. We focus on listening to your body, using props to make practice safe, and building strength at your own pace.

Surya Namaskara, or Sun Salutation, is a complete practice in itself. I explain how changing the pace of your practice yields different benefits, from building flexibility at a slow pace to boosting stamina and improving circulation at a fast pace.

Here is a sequence of five yoga movements to practice daily for energy and flexibility. This routine includes flows like Shishuasana to Bhujangasana and stretches like Lizard Pose to mobilize the spine and open the hips.

Never skip Shavasana. I explain why this final resting pose is not just about lying down. It is a crucial moment for your nervous system to reset and for your body to absorb the full benefits of your practice.

This video showcases several yoga poses inspired by nature. You can see demonstrations of Vrikshasana (Tree Pose), Padmasana (Lotus Pose), and Garudasana (Eagle Pose), each connecting us to the balance and grace of the natural world.

We recently completed 108 rounds of Surya Namaskara at our studio. This video captures the energy and focus of the group as we moved through this challenging and detoxifying practice together, building endurance and inner strength.

Feeling cluttered from too much screen time? This social media detox yoga sequence is for you. I guide you through four simple twisting and balancing poses, like Prayer Twist and Eagle Pose, to help reset your mind and body.

Chanting the mantras of Surya Namaskar adds a powerful vibrational element to the practice. Listen as we chant, connecting each movement with a specific mantra to honor the sun and deepen the meditative aspect of the flow.

This is not just lying down, this is Savasana. This image shows students in the final relaxation pose. It is an active state of conscious rest that calms the nervous system and integrates the work done during the asana practice.

This graphic, showing a person with a prosthetic leg using a strap to stretch, embodies our belief that yoga is about stretching beyond your perceived limits. Growth happens when you challenge your comfort zone, and props make that possible for everyone.

A little humor about everyone's favorite part of yoga: the "nap time" at the end. This image of a person in Savasana by the water captures the deep sense of peace and relaxation that this essential pose brings.

About Asana Library: Poses for Strength & Flexibility

People often ask if props like blocks and straps are cheating—they aren't. Using them allows us to hold poses like Trikonasana or Paschimottanasana with correct alignment, protecting your spine and joints while you actually build strength, regardless of your current flexibility level.
