Heritage Landscape Restoration Services
Restoring a historic estate requires more than technical skill; it demands an understanding of the site's history. We blend traditional craftsmanship with ecological sensitivity to bring these venerable spaces into the present.
The restored veranda of a century-old building, nestled amongst lush foliage. Our landscape work aimed to enhance the building's character, using plants to soften its edges and integrate it into the surrounding garden.
A restored cobblestone driveway leads to the entrance of the historic residence. The use of traditional materials and the preservation of the mature tree line along the drive were crucial to maintaining the estate's authentic character.
A new pavilion structure was designed to complement the century-old main building. The surrounding paved courtyard and the preservation of the large, established tree demonstrate a dialogue between the new and the old.

About Restoring Venerable Landscapes
When working with century-old estates, our first priority is root protection. We avoid heavy machinery entirely, opting for manual excavation to ensure that established banyan or mango trees remain undisturbed. This careful approach to site intervention allows us to integrate new hardscapes like cobblestone driveways without compromising the existing ecosystem.
Heritage restoration is a study in patience. We approach each site as a dialogue between the current landscape and the historical intent of the original designers.
Our restoration process centers on three pillars:
Tree Surgery and Root Protection Old-growth trees like Banyan or Mango are the anchors of these estates. We conduct rigorous health assessments and employ manual excavation techniques around the root zones to install seating or pathways without damage. We believe these trees are living history and their preservation is non-negotiable.
Material Integrity We source reclaimed stone and antique cobblestone to match the original hardscaping of the property. When we relay a driveway, we study the existing pattern and lay every stone to reflect the craftsmanship of the period. We do not impose a modern aesthetic; we maintain the continuity of the original design language.
Ecological Revival A historic garden often suffers from neglect or disjointed interventions over the years. We restore balance by introducing native shade-tolerant underplanting that thrives under existing canopies. We also revive traditional water harvesting structures, such as wells or tanks, to ensure the site remains ecologically self-sufficient.
Our goal is not to leave a mark, but to ensure the site's integrity endures for another century.
